Expert System announced today its participation in the workshop organised by Ittig-Cnr in conjunction with Festival d’Europa 2011 “From Information to Knowledge: Online Access to Legal Information: Following-up European Initiatives and Projects Enhancing Access to Legal Information via the Internet”(Florence, Palagio di Parte Guelfa, Piazzetta di Parte Guelfa – Sala Brunelleschi, on May 6, 2011, 9.00 am – 1.30 am).
Bruno Bassi, Expert System’s Senior Consultant of Knowledge Management solutions, will present Automatic Classification of documents for the Library of the Italian Chamber of Deputies during the day’s second session (11.20 a.m. – 1.40 p.m), focusing on the Chamber’s adoption of semantic technology for the classification of parlimentary documents.
The Library of the Chamber of Deputies selected Expert System’s Cogito semantic technology to support the automatic classification of its documents, with the objective of optimizing its archival processes and complying to the EuroVoc standards, which are composed of 6645 categories. EuroVoc is the multilingual, multidisciplinary thesaurus covering the activities of the European Union, the European Parliament in particular. It contains terms in 22 EU languages, and is used by national and regional parliaments in Europe, as well as national governments and private users around the world.
